A Decoder Ring To Help You Confuse Microsoft
The Rebrand Registry, possible once branded the Microsoft Product Lifecycle Tracker, is a tongue in cheek and somewhat accurate project by a Microsoft MVP which tracks the names of Microsoft products. If you’ve had to deal with more than just Windows, you know that while some Microsoft techs will still refer to Azure Active Directory what they really mean is Entra and that Office 365 technically no longer exists at all. It’s not as useful as our old PCPer SSD Decoder ring … or rather The Rebrand Registry is about as useful as it is now. It’s more in fun than function; nothing wrong with that at all.
Loryan Strant has also created a site which tracks MicroSoft’s inability to be consistent on their CapitalIzation, with some products following sensible use and other written in what is lovingly called Camel Case by those in the know. There is also the aptly named HumbledandHonored.com, to let your social media followers know you retained your MVP status during the yearly review … because that is surely important to them.
