PND … Physical (Media) Never Dies
GOG has started up yet another project to remind you just how awesome they are. Their new Printable Big Box program gives you the chance to download a GLB file which provides a flat printable template in PDF, SVG, and Adobe Illustrator of the original box the game came in. The program is just starting off and currently only has five boxes, for Armikrog, Descent, Hitman: Codename 47, Myst, and Star Trek: 25th Anniversary. This will expand, quite likely at a fast pace.
GOG partnered with Benjamin Wimmer and his Big Box Collection website, which has 1,000 3D scans of physical gaming boxes. That collection may soon be available in GOG’s Printable Big Box program as well. If you happen to have bought any of those five games from GoG, check for Goodies to see if you can make your own box.
Time to make some shelf space.
