Rockstar has announced that an “extended look” at Grand Theft Auto 6 is taking place on Netflix later this month.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix on August 27, at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST.
It will also launch on the Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA 6 website six hours later, at 6pm PT / 9pm BT / 2am BST.
Neither Rockstar nor Netflix has not given any more information on the presentation or how long it will last.
“See an extended look at Grand Theft Auto 6, the next evolution in the groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto series,” Netflix’s official description reads.
“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right,” Netflix VP of nonfiction series Brandon Riegg said in a statement.
“The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first.
“It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming – a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”
To date, Rockstar has released two trailers for Grand Theft Auto 6 – one in December 2023, and one in May 2025 – but has yet to show any actual gameplay.
Pre-orders for the highly anticipated game started in June, with Rockstar confirming that while a physical version of the game will launch in November, it won’t include a disc and will instead be shipped as a code in a box.
The standard edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 will retail for $80 USD, and the Ultimate Edition, which contains various in-game rewards, will retail for $100 USD.
Players who purchase the standard version of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be able to upgrade to the Ultimate Edition at any time.
The game’s official synopsis reads: “Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.
“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
