During the last few months of 2025, the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X finally made their grand debut to take on gaming handheld heavyweights like the Steam Deck and Lenovo Legion Go.
The Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X sold out quickly over the 2025 autumn and winter seasons. However, the Xbox Ally X has managed to find new stock at Best Buy for the retail price of $999.99.
For those unaware, the Xbox Ally X is a new gaming handheld that improves upon the technical performance of the ASUS ROG Ally X while incorporating compatibility for Microsoft’s Xbox ecosystem.
It’s able to run games at rock-solid framerates above 60fps thanks to its advanced AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, comfortable ergonomic grips, efficient and silent cooling systems, intuitive Xbox Game Bar integration, a high-quality 7-inch IPS display with 120HZ and VRR, and much more.
Our own gaming handheld expert, Rebecca Spear, gave the Xbox Ally X a staggeringly high 4.5/5 review, stating that it’s, and I quote, “…a worthy successor to the ROG Ally X and offers excellent handheld performance to keep up with a wide library of PC games. Its grips also provide a very comfortable holding experience on a handheld.”
