If you recently installed iOS 27 on iPhone, iPadOS 27 on iPad, or MacOS 27 Golden Gate, you might be wondering where the widely hyped new Siri AI set of features are on your device; a dedicated Siri app, a much smarter Siri AI with chatbot like experience, custom voices, and more. These are all compelling features and are a big part of the iOS 27 marketing and features, so it’s reasonable to be curious how to access and enable Siri AI on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
Siri AI has a few restrictions though, and it’s not available for everyone, nor on every device, nor in every language or region of the world (though we do provide a workaround for enabling Siri AI for EU users below). Plus, it turns out that Siri AI is technically still in beta, and there’s actually a waitlist to be sign up for and to be able to access and use the new Siri AI features.
Let’s review the system requirements, region requirements, and other limitations that exist, as well as how to enable and access Siri AI on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 27, or Mac with MacOS 27.
How to Enable Siri AI on iPhone or iPad with iOS 27
You must have already installed iOS 27 to have access to Siri AI, here’s how to enable it:
- Open the ‘Settings’ app on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to “Siri”
- Tap on “Try Siri AI (Beta)”
You will see a screen about joining the Siri AI waitlist to which you should approve:
You may get placed in a waitlist, though there seems to be an element of randomness to this as some users are approved immediately for Siri AI usage, or within a short amount of time.
Apple even put together a helpful YouTube tutorial on how to get Siri AI, perhaps they knew many iPhone/iPad users would be confused as to where and how to access and use Siri AI because it is not enabled by default with iOS 27 at launch:
How to Enable Siri AI on Mac with MacOS 27 Golden Gate
- From Apple menu go to “System Settings”
- Go to “Siri”
- Click to “Try Siri AI (Beta)” to join the waitlist
Note that if you have joined the Siri AI waitlist already on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you do not need to repeat that process on another Apple device. Once approved for one device, Siri AI will be available on all compatible devices.
Siri AI Supported Device List & Compatibility
First and foremost, to use Siri AI you must have a compatible iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Here’s the full list of supported devices.

Meanwhile, Siri custom voice requires an iPhone 17 Air or better, including iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone Duo, and iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max.
iPad Models Compatible with Siri AI
You must have an M-series chip, or A17 Pro chip, or better, in iPad to be able to use Siri AI:
- iPad Pro – M1 or better chip
- iPad Air – M1 or better chip
- iPad mini – A17 Pro or better chip
Mac Models Compatible with Siri AI
Any Apple Silicon Mac with 12GB RAM or more, that is on MacOS 27 Golden Gate, is compatible with Siri AI.
Siri AI Language & Region Restrictions
Siri AI is available currently in English.
Siri is region restricted in the EU due to some ongoing bureaucracy / regulatory dispute, so EU users will not be able to use it on their devices without a workaround.
Enabling Siri AI in EU on Mac Workaround
If your Mac is running macOS Golden Gate 27 and you’re in the EU, you can use this workaround to join the Siri AI waitlist and use the feature when approved:
- Switch the language of your Mac and Siri to English (System Settings > General > Language, plus System Settings > Siri >)
- Relaunch System Settings, then go back to System Settings > Siri > and you should have the option to try Siri AI and join the waitlist
- Siri AI will now work in the EU, but only if/when your Mac is set to English
This English trick might work in other countries and regions as well, if you try elsewhere let us know where you are and it’s efficacy.
Where is the Siri app in iOS 27 / MacOS 27?
The new Siri app will be available on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, after you are enrolled to us Siri AI.

According to Apple, Siri AI capabilities include the following:
Broad world knowledge: get answers to almost any question with broad world knowledge.
Personal context understanding: find what you need across Messages, Mail, Calendar, Notes, Reminders, and more with personal context understanding.
Onscreen awareness: ask about and act on what’s on your screen.
App actions: Siri can get things done across your apps to send messages, create events, and more.
Siri app: pick up where you left off with the Siri app, which keeps your conversation history synced with iCloud across your Apple devices.
Write with Siri: describe what you need, and Siri can generate a draft from scratch, edit what you’ve written, or give you feedback—virtually anywhere you type.
Visual Intelligence: learn more about what’s in front of you with Visual Intelligence. Use Siri mode in the Camera app (iPhone only), the screenshot gesture on iPhone and iPad, or keyboard shortcuts on Mac. On Apple Vision Pro, you can search, ask questions, and take action by looking at your surroundings and asking Siri.
Expressive voices: customize pace and expressiveness. Requires a device with the AFM Core Advanced on-device model. AFM Core Advanced is available on iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPad (M4), or later with at least 12GB of unified memory, and Mac (M3) or later with at least 12GB of unified memory, and Apple Vision Pro (M5).
