Not The Newest Tech Inside But Many Wonderfully Retro Features
Say hello to the Fairphone Gen 6+ which features an SD card, a removable battery and using only a T5 torx driver you can replace 12 parts including the cameras, USB-C port, and display. While you could get hold of previous Fairphone models in the US, they were only available through third parties and not directly from Fairphone. You should see it pop up on Amazon for around $650 and it is fully unlocked with support for T-Mobile and AT&T networks.
The hardware is not amazing, as mentioned but the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is not a bad chip and Fairphone somehow managed to up the RAM from 8GB to 12GB without adding a huge cost. You get 256GB of storage, plus whatever microSD you slot in, the battery is 4415 mAh and supports 30W wired charging. You connectivity spans everything you’d want; 5G, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth v5.4 and SIM or eSIMs and the screen is a decent 1400nit, 6.31″ LTPO OLED @ 1116×2484 which can handle refresh rates from 10-120 Hz.
