Another year, another Consumer Electronics Show, and another tidal wave of new tech announcements. HP is hitting CES 2026 hard with its own smorgasbord of reveals, including a complete refresh of its consumer-focused OmniBook family of laptops.

That’s the brand-new HP OmniBook Ultra 14, with a thinner, lighter, and more durable design, an HP-exclusive version of the powerful new Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite, and a surprisingly imminent release date.
Lots of OmniBooks, but my eyes are on the Ultra

HP isn’t holding back in 2026, with new hardware boasting Qualcomm Snapdragon X2, Intel Core Ultra (Series 3), and AMD Ryzen 400 chipsets across a range of form factors, screen sizes, and budgets.
Value-driven OmniBook 3- and 5-series devices are expected in February, starting at just $500, while more premium OmniBook 7- and X-series laptops are arriving later in Spring. There will be a lot of options under those four families, but it’s what stands at the pinnacle that interests me most.
The HP OmniBook Ultra 14 (G2) is coming with a more refined and premium take on the design language that debuted with the HP OmniBook X Flip I reviewed, and it’s a nice change of pace when so many other HP OmniBooks are rather reserved on the design front.
There are too many new HP OmniBooks to count at CES 2026, but the top dog definitely draws the most attention.
It’s over 50% lighter than the last generation (at under 3lbs) and 5% thinner than the latest Apple MacBook Air (at around 11mm), passes 20 MIL-STD-810 tests for greater durability, and in general boasts a really impressive list of features and specifications. What impresses most, though, is that this laptop doesn’t hold back when it comes to performance.
You’ll be able to get the OmniBook Ultra 14 in Qualcomm and Intel flavors when it drops later this month (with an expected starting price of around $1,550), and that includes an HP-exclusive, 18-core Snapdragon X2 Elite with an increased 5.0GHz clock speed and an insane 85 TOPS NPU for AI workloads.
HP has been on a strong run with its OmniBook laptops in general, lately, so I’m sure there will be a laptop for everyone here (it helps that there are so many options). I’ll definitely be waiting for an opportunity to get my hands on the new HP OmniBook Ultra 14, especially the blue Snapdragon variant.
