Nintendo has added three more NES games to the Nintendo Classics service on Switch Online.
Ninja Gaiden 3: The Ancient Ship of Doom, Ikari Warriors and RC Pro-Am 2 are now available to play via the NES app.
Originally only released in Japan and North America when it arrived on the NES in 1991, Ninja Gaiden 3 sees protagonist Ryu Hayabusa – framed for a murder he didn’t commit – learning of a CIA plan to create a race of super mutants by taking them from another dimension.
The first two games are already available on Switch Online, meaning the entire NES trilogy is now available.
Ikari Warriors is a vertically scrolling run and gun shooter starring a pair of commandos called Paul and Vince (it can be played solo or co-op). Gunning down enemies is naturally the aim, and players can occasionally jump into a tank for extra firepower.
Finally, RC Pro-Am 2 is the sequel to Rare‘s popular isometric weapons-based racing game. It offers multiplayer for up to four players, and builds on its predecessor by adding city and off-road tracks to the usual circuit ones.
Today’s update brings the total number of NES games available to 87 in the West, and 99 in total (if games only available on the Japanese version of the app are also included).
NES, SNES, Game Boy and Game Boy Colour games are available as part of the standard Switch Online subscription, which costs £3.49/€3.99/$3.99 for a one-month membership, £6.99/€7.99/$7.99 for a three-month membership, and £17.99/€19.99/$19.99 for a 12-month membership.
Switch Online’s Expansion Pack add-on, which is needed to play Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance and Sega Mega Drive / Genesis games, as well as GameCube games on Switch 2, costs $49.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 per year.
